Electronic tube amplifier: An audio power amplifier that uses an electronic tube as an amplification element. It is the oldest and enduring evergreen tree in the audio industry, with significant advantages of sweet, soft, transparent and natural sound, especially its large dynamic range and good linearity, which cannot be easily replaced by other devices.
Transistor amplifier: An audio power amplifier that uses semiconductor devices as amplification elements. The advantages of transistor amplifiers lie in their high current, wide bandwidth, low-frequency control, analytical ability to handle large scenes, sense of hierarchy, and brightness, all of which are superior to electronic tube amplifiers. However, the treble of electronic tube amplifiers is smoother, with sufficient air sensation, and there are many people who like the sound colors. Although the sound has fewer details and levels, the soft and slightly blurry sound is beautiful.
There are far more transistor amplifiers than tube amplifiers on the market, mainly due to the energy consumption, size, and maintenance of tube amplifiers hindering their development. Moreover, at the same price point, transistor power amplifiers have a higher cost-effectiveness.
